MEntal MEntality

we wish life could be lived more then once
some people need to live twice
once the wrong way
than once more to get it right
but never thrice
three times would bring more error
the second time of life would stop the wrong done in the first
and death would be not feared as much as it is now
the written in stone things they did to us
those bullies were a holy terror
in the second life would be no hurts
and death would not be feared as much as it is now
the poor among us rich in this decay
why cannot our lives just be this way
and death would not be feared as much as it is now
but thought is not the life we live
and words have yet to give
the power of the life we live
and death would not be feared as much as it is now

poet Richard Lovelace

Tell me not (Sweet) I am unkind,
That from the nunnery
Of thy chaste breast and quiet mind
To war and arms I fly.
