My Uncle is a Soldier
My uncle is a soldier
a soldier of the U.S. Navy Seabees
he helps people day in and day out
to reach their right to be free
My uncle is a soldier
in a poor foreign land
he helps people's villages
with no guns but the strength of his hands
My uncle is a soldier
but much more than that to me
My uncle is a soldier
and a hero to our family

Your uncle must be a great man. Extend my heartfelt greetings to him for serving the poor and downtrodden in the said poor country. I liked your poem as well as your great feelings for your uncle. Nice poem to read. I give it 9/10. Thanks for sharing..... If time permits, please read and rate my poem 'A humble complaint' on page 2.
