rawhide tales~

there was a time i wanted to be a cowgirl
the mountains here are full of ranchers,
cowboys and hats as large as the steak-

my boots were uggs
and i would stop at small shop windows
stare at the knee high cowboy boots
and imagine myself...

sportin' them with a skirt, stealing a horse
and riding off into the classic sunset ~

    Sun-up's coming
    Dry blanket
    Oiled leathers
    Another day on the ranch

    Clouds in the West
    Norther's coming
    No time to waste
    Cows moving
    Away from the storm

    Horse trembles
    Covered with sweat
    Standing legs braced
    Head drooped
    Rode hard
    Put away wet

    For Horse
    And rider
    There's no better life.
You can do it. (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Robert William Service

Just Home and Love! the words are small
Four little letters unto each;
And yet you will not find in all
The wide and gracious range of speech
Two more so tenderly complete:
