Cat Summers

Reality - Poem by Cat Summers

Nothing magical ever happens
I am
Shackled to this reality
The yearn for something more than this reality
But a wingless dream

Resistance is futile
For reality is a song on continuous repeat
My mind will soon unite itself with the normalcy of every other mind
Adapting to their thoughts of everyday things
Reality will replace the sparkle of hope for something more
Than what this logic based world has to offer

As the predictable overwhelms
My mind will become what it fears
A clone of everyone else’s mind
Because nothing magical ever happens in this reality
Nothing different
Nothing special
Nothing supernatural, paranormal or abnormal
Forcing me to join
The never-ending song of
Reality
