She went into the city
She went into the city
dressed in a tight black dress
and silver jewelry.
She struck up a conversation
with an artist
who was looking for a model.
It became an affair,
then a romance,
then a dissolution
when each concluded
that they had been had.
She moved on,
but her image remained
in his studio, on his walls.
