Steps to Heaven

Its like 2008 again,
And I'm in love with you,
Only now with an Exotic,
Better-looking; smarter version of you,
I am doing all those things,
The ones I dreamt I would,
Yet we know between you and I,
I didn't start from the bottom,
I was never there,
Thanks to Mr. K.
He is to me what Maya Angelou-
To the feminist is,
I still brood over the assumption,
That I'll live till seventy,
So now I'm more of a bigot,
Than I never imagined I would be,
Maybe I should take that job at the bank,
Like most normal men would,
But my destiny was scripted,
Like the sky being blue,
I am certain that neither you nor that job,
Were in any chapter of my book...
