broken raven wings
The wanderer
I have seen, many things, in this brief lifetime
I have felt many things, whilst I've been alive
Through fields of sorrow I have walked
Upon mountains of loneliness I have climbed
And I feel my struggle is far from over
The doors of the world are once more open, for me to survive
I step through the doors into a brave new world
As a wanderer searching truths that are no longer unfurled
A new start in a place so cruel
Past brothers no longer exist, old loves have faded
Alone, with new dreams to be broken
Alone to search for purpose in a world so jaded
I walk through the garden life, dreams of glass lay before me
The dreams I once had, now shattered by fates' decree
All the mistakes I made, now become apparent
I see old brothers and old loves, all have forgotten I exist
Abandoned, left to fend for myself
Left to wander towards uncertainty, to wander through the mist
Memories are my only treasure, my only possession
The only thing I have from my past life, now slowly become obsession
Torn from the past, into an uncertain future
In this new world I have new brothers, new loves come and go
Lost, with nothing but certain agony to guide me
Memories become pain, yet I still cannot let go
Lies are the only comfort I have ever received
From old brothers and old loves, my heart was deceived
Old loves come back to torment me
I was better off without their existence, bearing the future alone
Old wounds begin to bleed, old scars tear open
The feeling of uncertainty and past pains, rip my soul from the bone
Out of the silent darkness, comes a shred of hope
Under the decaying skies, I find a means to cope
A voice of a future has spoken to me
Although a future of isolation, still a future I can bear
My curse of dreadful luck clouds the future events
To reach this beacon of light is now my only care
My curse still lingers, it will not be banished
Yet still I carry on, the faint hope I grasp has not vanished
I refuse to surrender to this brave new world
Through death, through strife, through bloody war I continue on
Though nothing is set in stone, it is all I have
Although, many I loved may perish, I will still be wandering on
