A rose! a Rose! A many petal'd rose!
such beauty! Such Passion! All for just one rose!
What inner want could crave such lust,
to wish possession of the rose?
Who knows! It must me lust!
Nay, 'tis Wonder!
ah, 'tis anger, revenge!
But what of fear?
Perhaps this rose is the remaining touch
of some long gone loved one?
If so, let him have the rose!
no man should feel such pain! Ah, alas,
'tis I whoo fears it, and wish nothing more but to destroy it,
with the memory of evil old aunt Elsie.
Who can grant my wish? I am not a man enough to touch such evil,
I fear it as one fears death, alas, they are linked as one in my mind.Just one fondle, before the flame...Egad! I caught a thorn...
