True Meaning of Christmas? Hope

Rushing to the stores
Stressing about what to buy
Worried about the bills
Spending what you don't have
Coveting your neighbors gifts
Trying to control your life
Smiling on the outside but crying within
Merry Christmas we say
Through this all we do not have time to reflect
What is the true meaning of Christmas?
It is hope.
Hope was born that day
Love was the reason
A free gift to all mankind
A king sent to set us free
A king who ended up sacrificing His life for you and me
Hope for the poor and the meek
Hope for the wealthy
Hope for those who are lonely
God wanted us to know He loves us
He forgives us
And He wants us to join Him in Heaven
We cannot earn it
We do not deserve it
It is a free gift
We must accept it
We are all sinners
So this Christmas remember God's gift to us
Hope through love
And share that hope to all those you know in need.
You will feel better about yourself
Knowing you helped someone out
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

When the hours of Day are numbered,
And the voices of the Night
Wake the better soul, that slumbered,
To a holy, calm delight;

Ere the evening lamps are lighted,
