This poem is by The Australian Author John O'Grady (1907-81) and is included in one of his books (I think it was'It's your shout, mate! ') and is titled 'Intergrated adjective'. The wording is slightly different too. John O'Brien was a catholic priest, going by the pen name of PJ Hartigan, (probably a jab at the sensitivities of the time) . Seems that this site does not contain any poetry of John O'Grady, which is peppered throuhout his works and of very relevant and connected humourous quality. |

This poem is NOT by John O'Brien it is probably by a schoolteacher called Will Carter although that is also an informed guess by local historians. It is, however, DEFINITELY NOT by John O'Brien |
