Where The Cornstalks Grow - Poem by Maylee Bossy

It all stemmed from the base of a leaf
As small as the belief that I might never
Meet someone like you
With your labyrinth thumbprint
Reading the maple veins like a map
Of all the rivers streaming North
Carrying my body home again
And again the cornstalks grow
Where our feet once were
While our hands solved the mystery
Of the crop circles in your hair

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I'm sorry if it upsets you that my hypothetical rivers are streaming away from the equator.
