Wildfire

Wildfire

Your love was like a wildfire
It burnt me to the core
So hot and uncontrollable
But nothing else I saw

You came and warmed my lonely nights
Consuming all I was
Igniting embers dead and cold
You’re all that I’d thought of

The blaze has gone and in it’s wake
I’m left here burnt and dying
Past and gone this searing flame
Alone again and crying

Mother Nature will regenerate
This bare and blackened soul
New shoots will sprout without a doubt
And once more make me whole.
