In one of my early twelve step meetings

Like a loving mother welcoming a wayward child
Twelve step members welcome the newcomer
He feels their love and the safety of their presence
The sturdiness of their ways

Grains of sand crunch beneath
My feet as the ocean loudly
And endlessly reminds me
Of nature's washing and cleansing

As dutiful daughters of the spring
They bowed in tandem, downwind
In a fierce late winter storm.

On one side it's light
The other is dark
The next instant it's different
Meridians on the move

This game can be played from dusk till dawn
From your journey quickly detached
Your ready found glow nurtured and new
There are no strings attatched

Can you imagine traveling
Flying amonst the stars?
Or snooping around the surfaces
