A lonely poet sitting by the window, I scribble my thoughts as they come. I have a great appreciation for science and the natural world; it's impermanence makes it all the more precious.)

Hallowed Winter Night

With every moment and every breath,
I held it close,
I dared not blink.
Breath froze beneath a starry mantle-
A starry mantle?
Or a cloudy dusting?
A kingdom too inconcievably small
Crunched beneath my buckled boots;
A thin sheen lay upon the road.
Slippy but smiling with a glacial moonlit glare,
And from gaseous flames held in shimmering frames
Casting gold into the sky-
An unnatural sky, so bright-
Delighted, I inhaled the frosty air;
It filled my lungs;
Filled... every corner.
Snowflakes danced around me
As Winter's Daughter waved my night away.
With a smile and a grin,
A festive cheer bubbled from within me,
On this hallowed winter night.
