I love this poem. Jim Morrison was a man of tremendous talent and wisdom. He was a great intellectual, a visionary and an artist of whose power and message is still being felt thity-five years after his untimely death. Jim was a great american poet, a tortured soul. A man that was misunderstood in the society that he lived in. Jim was the lead singer and lyricist of The Doors, one of the greatest and controversial rock bands of the 1960's. His lyrics were filled with love, pain, lust and of the turmoil that young people were living at the time. Jim Morrison is probably the most influential rock singer of his time and there hasn't been anyone since his death to have the kind of influence that he has had on many rock bands from punk to rock to blues. This is one of my favorite pieces of lyrical poetry that Jim recorded. Morrison was a genius and his legacy will forever remain alive and vibrant through all of the fantastic Doors albums and his beautiful, hypnotic and alluring poetry.
