Tahara Brown

Tahara Brown Poems

I sit in the dark and let my body sink
I shut the world out and begin to think
My actions unseen my crys unheard
Lost in a maze, homeless bird
...

The day you said yes was the happiest day of my life.
I cherish that moment.
I always try to stop that moment of time.
Cause in those seconds when you said yes, my life turned around.

No Escape

I sit in the dark and let my body sink
I shut the world out and begin to think
My actions unseen my crys unheard
Lost in a maze, homeless bird

I'm an adjective they use to speak
Weird because they say so
Scared because they say so
Cold because they say so

I look in the mirror and what do i see?
No reflection
No soul
No me
I see the adjective they claim me to be
I don't see the person i want to be

With each insulting word they say they push me closer to the edge
But i'm not alone i see other people
They jump the cliff of misery

I stop to think of what to do
Will it ever end?
I hear some voices telling me to jump and end the pain
I must be insane
I hear some voices telling me no
It's not worth it to let go

My eyes become blurred with tears
I want to end and cease my fears
I jump...
I didn't jump because i was scared
I didn't jump because i was cold or weird
I jumped just to know what it felt like

Falling into an endless pit
The voices yell and curse high-pitched
The voice of an angel pierces through the darkness i knew
She said the only way out is the way through
