Orphans
We are orphans of Hope.
Slaves to anguish we're not,
Yet looked upon we seem.
We are merely desolate.
Look, we have been adopted.
Our new parent's called Despair.
We are displeased with this parent.
He is abusive, cruel and bleak,
Yet we accept him willingly.
We are hit in the chest so many
Times we wish we could not feel. He hits
Us on the head so many times that
We are forgetting our past guardian.
We're tired of him. We will run away.
Not easy, but memory's returning.
We are orphans of Despair.
You are in complete control. Once you realize this, opportunity is ubiquitous.
