Let me talk to you about turmoil and tantrums;
about tempests that tremble the hairs
upon your neck,
making them dance

I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you.
I love you so much that it hurts.
I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you.
I love you so much that it has ceased to matter.

I like this boy but only on mondays,
on tuesdays he stays tuned into wii,
wednesdays break into fights about tuesdays,

singing in childish prattle -
confounded by my outbursts,
my consistent weeping,
and my inability
to cry...

while I leave you to breathe
for breath,
in my very surrender.
