A wealthy merchant had three daughters
All surpassingly beautiful
But the youngest was so fair
And so kind

The emperor had a palace of gold
Precious jewels gilded his very movements
And his garden had flowers that smiled and tinkled
But what everyone remembered about the kingdom of the emperor

The king had twelve beautiful daughters
Locked in their room every night
Every morning their dancing slippers were found
Worn and tattered
...

“Come,
Come and join us.” I say with a smile.
“Where are we going? ” you ask.
“To a party.”

Sleep pulls me down
Begging me to place my head upon the pillow
To sink to her warm embrace
To let me dream
...

I sit here and watch the stars twinkle above me
And I say, “I’m gonna touch a star someday.”
“And how will you get there? ” they ask scathingly
“Will you fly? Sprout wings and fly? ”

Crackling, leaping, searing, burning
Sparks fly as it gobbles up the wood
It’s so dangerous yet so beautiful
It can spread so quickly and kill so many

Fog rolls in
Shrouding the city
In a blanket of silence
