Under The Pale Moon

The lovers stood beneath star lit sky
and let the moments of time slip by
he pleads for her not to go
as the forest's winds began to blow
but fate was holding them in hand
as they made their final stand
against all odds their love would remain
for their love nothing could contain.
The stars gazed down in sympathy
and could only offer them their empathy
The lovers said their final farewells
Because they heard deaths final bells
so she took his knife
and ended her own life
while he held her in an embrace she bled
and oceans of tears he did shed
he cried to heaven and asked why
and only wished that he too could die
so he kissed her lifeless mask
and readied himself for the next task
he cried no more and gripped the hilt
and put an end to all his guilt
The blade cut deep inside his heart
but he could not bear to live with them apart
as life's blood drained away
the lover's bodies beneath moonlght lay
And when in heaven they met at last
they stood with mouths against
and many a kiss did she give,
and he held her in his arms captive
they thanked God for giving them a chance,
And this time, above the moon they began their eternal romance
