Wael Hazimeh Poems

What if, we could close our eyes & travel burden free to a place,
Somewhere we joyfully visited ages ago, before we lost its trace.
What if, these forbidden feelings could be reborn emotionless again,
And not be engraved in the coffin, where the heart painfully nailed.
...

I've seen the moon in your presence burn in envy, into a red flame
And break into halves while melting & dripping in the sea of shame.
Your beauty shines brighter and enough to end its reign without a fight,
But eternity isn't ever enough for my eyes to track your enchanting light.
...

I've observed a star sacrifice its light for the moon to shine every night,
& silently dim behind while its arms reached to embrace out of sight,
The beautiful, through their reflections on the ocean so tight,
While the waves danced alongside its heartbeats, only to reunite.
...

We bid adieus in the footsteps of shadows dissolving in tranquil darkness,
While our last goodbye echoes, forgotten in the fading stars mourning in distance.
I fell wingless & helpless from your heaven and crashed bottomless with my heart,
Into the merciless ground of fate, where hope & dreams were emptied torn apart.

What If...

What if, we could close our eyes & travel burden free to a place,
Somewhere we joyfully visited ages ago, before we lost its trace.
What if, these forbidden feelings could be reborn emotionless again,
And not be engraved in the coffin, where the heart painfully nailed.

What if, I had the power to conquer these clocking years,
And reach such distance where we could meet anew,
While my fingertips entwine to yours and I could feel again,
Before they decomposed perished away in the sand of time.

What if I could only dream....and there you are,
Embodied in my arms, where our worlds reunite.
What if, the silence could only speak and echo aloud,
Before the words turned to stone and broke to pieces lost in time.

A distant wish, that only will rest murdered every time I awake away,
Of such beautiful artificial world, where only the memory will remain.
An immobile picture of you & I, where we always escaped,
And observed it, burning to ashes of what once we were.
