Traces Poem by Israel Semanu

Traces

I thought it was all over
I almost found myself behind
I wish time could roll over
But in the end it was a wish cast aside

Hard times to face in these past years
Yet with all my abilities I couldn't face it on my own
Too much interference in my ears
And I nearly fell off my goal

Too many calls
Only to place a guide on my falls
I stayed focused not to slip
But I found myself many times in sleep

And here came a battle the whole world faced
Locked down only to guess what happens
Too much focus on the happenings
Too much efforts to locate the traces

But these, we couldn't face
The story was more coined than just a race
If not for a substance of grace
Where would we call this place

To many wishes we couldn't find
Reality tested our true faith
And with all the truths in the hide
We had to submit to fate

I have shaken too many hands
And I feel the cheers from my fans
But aside what I think
I never know what they may drop in my drink

I hear them say everyday
" We are with you"
But the experiences,
Have thought me on many days

Too much screams in my ears
I can't take it
Too much power in my fears
I can't face it

The joys of traces
The fears of my downfall
The tears of traces
The highs I bet my hopes on

Draw to me greatness
From my path far be gone madness
Hold me till my jumps reach the highs
