Ala Morales Poems

The snow is melting
The ice is splitting
Forming geometric forms
The river beneath is rushing to freedom
...

Every day when I wake up
I face the same routine of my life
Cooking, cleaning, shopping
And working like a fool

Canadian Spring

The snow is melting
The ice is splitting
Forming geometric forms
The river beneath is rushing to freedom
Through the sounds of the crushing ice
The water is twisitng, turning, and dancing
Awaking to the early spring sun
It's self-cleaning from human debris
And old tree stumps

The sea gulls and ducks have just flow in
From the distant South
To welcome the ice water from the rushing river
And dry their cold feathers in the warm Canadian sun
