Cut out dreaming, and breathe instead
Broken voices, abrupt alarms
Just leave us to our morning charms

At my door there is a sight,
The lonely lady of noxious night.
These eyes are schooled,
But currently ruled,
...
Until this moment I never believed,
That a being was present when all was conceived.
No god to govern us, or guide our lives.
No heavenly angels, or imps with scythes.
...
My head is clouded with questions; I try to ask her why,
But I get nothing but vile crackling, the heavens great reply.
Slowly I leave the scene with my umbrella and my dismay.
Loosing colour around me, fading black and grey.

Sudden soul, our eyes first link
Coerced my body, back from the brink
So that I may leave her side
For her hazel heart, I must provide.
After breakfast, re-entwine
In a blaze of warmth by dawns design
And in its light bless this sight
This lady made it through the night.
She slept through darkness, my rest denied.
I was watching, as the shadow died
Lost in thought of how I’d lied
When I said that I slept better
With an angel by my side
