Alma F. Martin Poems

A parent is such a villain
When lifting a hand to their children

Out of control these kids they be
...

I am glad to have made your day
I am happy to rescue you this way.

Onward you shall go with a smile
...

Miscellaneous poems, I do write
usually in the dark of night.
Sometimes during the day I sit
& contemplate the bloggers wit.
...

Enjoy your poems, so do I
for they are written with a well-noted eye.

My child did not go unscathed
...

Alike, we are, I do see
I have met my match, but cannot agree

with the belt or physical force
...

Rants are such a quirky thing
A person uses a voice to ring

An insult of the day to be tried
...

A poem for River, I shall write
To keep forever in your might.
Around your self my arms shall clutch
and hold you tight within my touch.
...

You who made the mountains & the sea
and measured out the universe & you made me.

You who echoes your voice and called the worlds to be
...

In my arms I lovingly held a new life
& gently cared for you with no strife.

Mistakes I made, I do regret
...

Raised in oppression & complete poverty
a trusting child shoved into society.

Youngest of all who put up - no fight,
...

A disability, you say? - No, I don't see.
- it is only a shield in which to protect me

from those who would laugh & torture & hate
...

Where's my mom? you suddenly say.
She was just here, now she's gone away.
She's in the kitchen, I'm pretty sure.
But when you look, it's not her.
...

'Where AM I? ' you repeat on the phone.
'Well, I'm not sure, but I'm not at home.'

'Look at the signs? ' you repeat again.
...

A great poem you have said
And onward others should be led

To those parents who do not spank
...

</>I shall be the noble servant
Who proudly bears forth a shining serpent

And trust of all I shall gain
...

Oh Mighty Craig's List, please hear me now.

Please open up & tell me how
...

I have made your day today
by copying your reply in such a way

That spans your thoughts and complements your mind
...

Discipline Of Children

A parent is such a villain
When lifting a hand to their children

Out of control these kids they be
Drugged up at school costs a fee

To society that is, by dropping out
But nay, no parent should doubt

That in spanking a child should not be a route.

Ah yes, an unruly child shall turn
away from err, when the posterior is churned.

I myself have a few times felt
a love so great that came from the belt.

And yes, I too, to this day, have born no crime
& choose to love that child of mine

In such a way that bears no harm
but surely it does work like a charm.
