Meaningless

What does a man get when he works hard?
Money?
What does that money get?
Food?
What does the food do?
It let’s the man live?
What does the man do?
Die?
What does death achieve…

Meaningless! It’s all meaningless!
As I lie there in bed,
I think of what I did,
I worked on many thing today.
Maths, writing, talked to a friend.
What good will all this do, in the end?

In a hundred years,
will anyone remember me?
In two hundred years,
will there be people to remember?

All that we do in this world,
will anyone ever be told,
of great achievements,
long gone?
