Ann Murrell Poems

I reached out to touch you with words soft and entreating,
So close I felt that you could hear how fast my heart was beating.
The setting sun had rendez vous with twilights early gleam and slowly
intermingled to form a golden beam that shone warm through the window, clothing

Unrequited Love

I reached out to touch you with words soft and entreating,
So close I felt that you could hear how fast my heart was beating.
The setting sun had rendez vous with twilights early gleam and slowly
intermingled to form a golden beam that shone warm through the window, clothing
us in its light, Now was the time to ask you, now the time was right!
I touched you gently, "How do you feel", Me dear, "You are the best".
"I want to share with you my joy the happiness in my life , I've finally asked
the one I love, today to be my wife"
My heartbeat slowed, my senses swirled, and I could barely see,
Through trembling lips I wished him joy, with his bride- to -be.
