her mother's voice the only sound.

Draped in smiles that hide our fangs,
Cloaked in manners and good deeds,
All to hide our hunger pangs,

Gather round- dear friend and kin,
The day grows near- so close at hand,
A time of joy and love will reign,
Though nothing will go quite as planned.

Play me a tune and sing me a song,
Help me to learn so I can sing along,

Tell me a story that I can believe,

Creature of my own design,
Brought to bear upon this world,
Taking all that had been mine,
Deadly talons neatly curled.

Power courses through each vein,
Venom fills a tyrant's brain,
Her eyes will tell you that you're prey,
Her words will keep you far away.

Born the same yet different,
Twin peas from distant pods,
Thoughts so loud yet reticent,
Two minds always at odds.

He wakes in sweat and panicked breath,
Convinced that these are more than dreams,
The thought of her in pain and scared,
A vision far too real it seems.

Creativity is the art of rebellion,
Our lives a canvas of expression,
Through hearts in bright vermillion,
Brushed by shades of dark depression.

as chaos grows within,
The shadows of another life,
