Indifferent Silence

How preemptive was my past
Time, seemingly gone too fast
Outta my hands, & my reach
I never learned from what I'd preach
Shuddering with hopes for tomorrow

Seasons gone, my life sits still
Peering incredibly at window sill
Out there, no one I won't doubt
'Cause they can't read, what I'm about
Wondering what creates more sorrow

Am I, to the world, a black sheep?
As I suffer alone, others by me weep
My body needing rest, mind fighting sleep

Even as I, to the future, seek
I know, the days to come, bleak
Slipped away has the drive, desire
Lost have I, the rebellious fire
Do I, the path of martyrs follow?

The endless tears have dried my soul
The warrior in me, having lost control
Now I stand, twitching in pain
For the sins, I can't mend again
Mutiny to orthodoxy, driving me hollow
