Getting Away

Getting away, easier to do than it is to say.
When life gets hard and shadows grow long,
I lay down on my bed and listen to my song.
Sweet flutes and crying violins rock me to sleep
In my dreams I no longer weep.
Debussy, bach, and mozert all have a share,
In my crooning and rythmic love affair.
Their calming melodies sooth my body and mind,
And in my rest, no dark monsters to find.
No worries or sorrows for today or tomorrow.
Only joy and light will keep me tonight.
