Ashutosh Ranjan Tripathy Poems

There were those days, many days ago,
When through your eyes everything was told,
They conveyed the love, the care and trust,
But now those very same eyes are cold.

Liars
are those who say they always cry
in rain. How hard is it to dry
tears? Breathing rain-washed soil, I

Endless frustration, what do I do?
I am completely helpless right now,
Want to get out of this huge maze,
But oh! Alas! I do not know how.

I counted the days as they dragged on,
And waited very long to grab the chance,
To redeem myself from the lonely world,
And tackle our biggest hurdle-DISTANCE.

the intact gleam of light
Swirling wind hovering

Cold Eyes

There were those days, many days ago,
When through your eyes everything was told,
They conveyed the love, the care and trust,
But now those very same eyes are cold.

There were those days, many days ago,
My resolve sapped, yet you made me bold,
With your eyes, you kept on soothing me,
But now those very same eyes are cold.

There were those days, many days ago,
When for my carelessness you used to scold,
Your eyes used to chide me quietly,
But now those very same eyes are cold.

There were those days, many days ago,
When through streets, timelessly we strolled,
Your eyes gave mine enough company,
But now those very same eyes are cold.

There were those days, many days ago,
When shapes out of clay we used to mould,
Your eyes used to spell mischief and fun,
But now those very same eyes are cold.

There were those days, many days ago,
When on the beaches we laughed ‘n rolled,
You’d look at me, all the love in your eyes,
But now those very same eyes are cold.

There were those days, many days ago,
In your arms, my frame, you used to hold,
Your eyes said, “I’ll always be there for you”,
But now those very same eyes are cold.

There was that one day, many days ago,
When you said, “Together we’ll get old”,
But one day you shut your eyes and left,
And now those eyes will forever be cold.
