baisakhy dash Poems

Does my fault lie at my presumption
That whatever I am told is the truthful version,
Or am I wrong in my consideration
That people will mirror my fair conclusions?
...

Deep down the dungeons of my heart
There lie feelings dormant and dead,
Those which I dread to nurture so far
Lest later they don’t drown me in depths of regret.
...

The sky had turned a scarlet hue
As the sun blushed a shy goodbye,
I lifted my veil to feel the evening breeze
And across the crowd something struck my eye.
...

Years have passed between us
Yet it seems like only yesterday,
When you walked into my life
And I thought you were to stay.
...

Standing on the edges of a battered wall
Shove me a bit and I shall fall
Into the clutches of an intangible world
Before I break I need to get a hold...

Does My Fault Lie At My Presumption...

Does my fault lie at my presumption
That whatever I am told is the truthful version,
Or am I wrong in my consideration
That people will mirror my fair conclusions?

Is it too big a mistake to trust
To fall in love or to make a friend,
To commit truly when a relationship demands
To be fair and to expect in return the same?

Am I supposed to penetrate people’s mind
Scan for a tactful motive behind every innocent claim,
Abandon the seemingly obvious straight ventures
And go around twisted rocky ways in the terrain?

Am I expected to judge and weigh
Every word before I take it in,
Look through to assess and decipher
What every simple gesture might intend to mean?

Is it foolish on my part
To expect things to be simple and straightforward,
To expect people not to lie so blatantly
When one trusts them so blindly?

Then I am sorry for I fail to comprehend
The ways of this world so complicated,
For neither can I feign nor falsely pretend
What stays in my heart is just solemnly reflected.

My endurance can stand the toughest fall
But standing through tough falls doesn’t prove any point,
There are lessons to be learnt in life
And that’s where my heart and mind don’t stand joint.

My sense, my judgment all seem in confusion
Making me wish for a simple solution,
But I know I’ll have to duel between fairness and reason
Coz I can surface only when I make the rightful decision...
