Caltha Garafi Poems

Violet eyes
Captivating, under blue skies
Possibly cultivating, in the right light
Or maybe destructive, filled with spite
...

The girl is smiling happily, she seems so very pleased.
But if you knew her story, you would feel ill at ease.

Her bruises are no accident, it's not just all a laugh.
Her father likes to hit her, and attack her in the bath.
...

Come, beckons the night,
Let us dance together, and chase the dreamweaver
I am not laughing at you
It is only the laughter of the past
...

All your desires,
your hopes and your dreams,
I will destroy them,
How funny it seems,
...

You Do This To Me

Violet eyes
Captivating, under blue skies
Possibly cultivating, in the right light
Or maybe destructive, filled with spite
The words become ash in my mouth
Your ways so uncouth
I didn't expect a knife in my ribs
A smile to charm the most unsettled of cribs
I became lithely in your hand
Attempted to appease every demand

Where did time go, I've forgotten
Or perhaps I missed its passage
Does it matter? As the sky begins to darken
Either way I think I can manage
Rains drops dampen, the fields of my mind
What did I do to get this in kind
Echoes reverberate of that fateful conversation
Maybe I let you become too much of a fixation
Should I ask for pardon?
I doubt I could find a reversal for this damage
Was I simply blind?
Questions upon questions
I suppose I'll continue to ponder on my possible transgressions.

I look to the sky as it all turns black
It would seem, there is no turning back
Forward then, with a very faint glimmer
Towards some sort of hope, just a shimmer
Death will wait, of that I am sure
Besides I'm sure I can concoct a cure
Wishful thinking or fact, only time can tell
But for now I continue on my path to hell
