of innocence, of freedom, of drive, of purpose.

I confess my affair with words of all kind,
Words are the constant companions in my mind.
BIG WORDS, little words, words of love and cheer

A backward glance at bygone days
With thoughts that stop to gently graze on
bits and pieces
of dreams we dared to dream.

Today has been set aside for a nation to rifle through the pages of history to uncover legacies of truth left by King.
They were not new truths just fashioned into new words which somehow inflamed our collective hearts to action.
Did the truth set us free? Free from what?

Bad Things Happen To Good People
It’s really a shame that bad things happen to good people,
but they do.
It’s all too common that triumphs in life are overshadowed by losses:
of innocence, of freedom, of drive, of purpose.
Who survives intact, without ere a backward glance?
While we move steadily forward
into surface talks, that reveal nothing;
painful truths must be faced or else.
Else all that is good, all that is fine,
all that is yours, all that is mine
slowly fades away.
It fades into an abyss of unspoken words,
Silent laments for that which we lost,
When those bad things happened to good people.
