The Warmth Of Winter

Some random day, I heard someone said
'The ones that never said were the important ones
They are restrained within each person's heart'
But each day of moping while sun sets
Each day your life is torn into pieces
But you continue to wait, you know you should

You feel cold, you get numb
Wind whooshing your cheeks while your heart's writhing
The cynical moments you shed over a night
Thinking nothing's gonna happen right
The one you kept within,
The one you promised since then

You drink over so the gloom goes away
But each drop of snow brings back memoirs of holiday
You know you're holding back
Heart's numb and cold and dark

You're not sad, you know you're not
Albeit the oceans and the waves pull you to madness
It's not your fault to blame, maybe a parcel of it
But you know the promise you kept

Then suddenly, someone stepped in your doorstep
It's the familiar scent, and you're afraid it could only be a dream
It's cold, you're numb and you're cold, but you can feel it
Snow's falling so hard while the wind whooshes against it
But it's getting warm and now you can feel your heart beat
