The Blessing Moon
That shabby old man
in great edginess sat
By the ingress of his dilapidated hut
-in those alluring evening hours.
All the time he kept thinking-
'How will I get rid of the darkness of the night!
Not a drop of oil left
to provide the lamp & pray-
O lamp, save me from the darkness of the bay,
Else, it will swallow me completely! ! '
He kept thinking, and dusk fell down,
And slowly night approached.
Still he kept thinking-
'How will I get rid of the darkness of the night? '
