Christine Sears Poems

broken and defeated
gasping for breath
body splayed out across the floor
...

My door is shut.
That's when I cut,
To relieve my gut
When I'm stuck in a rut.
...

Oh their blind eyes.
If only they could see the things
That are torturing me
Inside.
...

I say I'm fine but I'm going insane.
I say I feel good but I'm in a lot of pain.
I say it's nothing but it's really a lot.
I say I'm fine but really I'm not.
...

People feel the need to care
But I shrink from condescending eyes.
They just don't quite get it,
Don't see the hurt, the pain, the lies.
...

Do you know what it's like
To wake up and pray to fall asleep again?
Just so I don't have to face the day,
I close my eyes and say 'Amen.'
...

It's the story of a girl
So broken and so alone.
Her feelings are in a whirl
And her actions she can't condone.

The Best Poem Of Christine Sears

You Are

broken and defeated
gasping for breath
body splayed out across the floor

exhausted I am

nails bloody from clawing away my own skin
hair ripped out in clumps
teeth cracked and yellow

hurt I am

coldly staring straight ahead
hot tears streaming down my face
curses erupting from my lungs

angry I am

laying on the ground with me
binding my wounds
singing me silent lullabies

present You are.
