Aftermath

Such a storm of emotion and anger and tears
Such a season of betrayal, rage and uncertainty
Cancer was bad enough, I thought it couldn't get any worse
I was wrong
Cancer only threatened my life
This threatened my soul, my personality
Cancer I could (and did) fight
This I had no defense against and no way to fight
Once more I learn
Don't trust anyone
