A raging, wet and raucous night evolved into a glorious dawn,
I walked alone with restless heart and lingered for the coming calm,
When eerie mist from meadow parted way,
Steel blue sunbeams pierced the clouds of ivory and gray.

Peach, pear and apple essence fill the orchard air,
Wind bent limbs uplift themselves shedding summer shroud,
Expectant sow investigates a wisely hidden birthing lair,
Raptors glide on thermals to reach the cirrus clouds.

For just a moment the river held our hands,
Drew our lonely spirits close together,
The solace of the water clear and cold,
Two apart, again became as one.
