you always enjoyed
Our trips to the woods
But this time it was not the same
Something sat on your mind that day
...
Her best friend of long ago
Had passed away so suddenly
Without a love to share
She knelt before the stone
...
Very few will know the pain I feel
For a piece of my heart has died.
Giving in full my heart and soul to you
...
A Heart Remebers
you always enjoyed
Our trips to the woods
But this time it was not the same
Something sat on your mind that day
And seemed to pull within your heart
The day was sunny and warm
Yet you seemed as in the fog
We were holding hands as we walked along
Though your thoughts were miles away
And I'll never forget what you said to me that day
In the cabin we sat with family and friends
Spirits high while we enjoyed their company
You were quick to join in talk and song
Yet you drifted in your thoughts
of a far and distant place
The time passed swiftly
The walk back quiet
The crossing lights flashed
The train soon pulled in
The train then pulled out
Your hands hard pressed upon the window
As you watched the world go speeding by
Realization hit when you spun and faced my way
The words you spoke now forever fill my heart
'You love me! Don't you? You really love me! '
great writing, enjoyed it very much
