As an ill wind wakens and
Begins to gather pace, magpies
And blackbirds can only watch.

Leaving trees bereft of a winter coat.
Moist lichens drip their beards down
Chilly weather beaten tree barks.

She sits alone by the window
Lost in her thoughts as the rain falls,
Life is passing her by so slow,
Gone are the days of summer balls.

Days of love and roses
Given to my love with love.
What heart could love more?
How could you love less?

It is a measure of man as a species
How he treats the realm of nature.
Man is still a hunter gatherer of food
And clothing and wild animals suffer.

Dear Agony Aunt my husband has started something new
He's learning to dance the Argentine tango
The trouble is we're both 92
And I have the tan but not the go.
