All That Was Gold

Why dandelions in your hair?
This image becomes oh so rare;
I might well comb and mine for gold
and have the summer seedlings unfold.

Why dandelions in your eyes?
Can you not believe the summer skies?
I might freeze with the winter cold
and not let our love become so old.

But why no dandelions in your heart?
I shall go scurry to find some at the mart
For i shall hurry and bring it back to you
but by then you would have already flew

And all that was gold
was lost within my hold.
