Wandering through the busy street lanes,
Where children ran here and there,
Women rushed to fill their pots with water,
Children blocked their way playing,

Staring at the beautiful sky,
i sat down to the ground,
To find shooting stars pass by,
Without a single sound.
...

The moon shone in the sky at night,

Looking for her mighty knight,
...

She walked around the mountain with glee,
I'm beautiful, she said, just like the sea,
Her name was Andrea.

The Lonely River

Wandering through the busy street lanes,
Where children ran here and there,
Women rushed to fill their pots with water,
Children blocked their way playing,
Men were selling items with their loud voices,
I managed to sat down on the river bank,
And I saw her...

I forgot everything and watched her,
She had a beautiful voice,
A voice unheard, only silence knows,
She had a cheerful flirty smile,
And talked to me when she passed through stones.

She had big, beautiful eyes,
Eyes that no one, only I could see,
They always watered and never dried,
She kept on shedding tears,
Whenever she laughed, or cried.

She said to me she was lonely,
No one used to talk to her, observe her,
Everyone came to her, only when they needed her,
To wash their clothes, or animals, or vessels,
They used to pollute her,
She said, her smile had a tinge of sadness.

I cried, but then smiled,
Told her that I would meet her,
Sometimes I felt just like her,
Used, disposed by selfish people,
I only needed someone to talk to.

I promised, I would meet her very soon,
No matter, day by day how more ugly she might become,
I will always be there for her, without fail.
Author Notes
It's an imaginary discussion between a person and a river. (The river has been given human qualities)
