The bruised and battered, bleeding Lord,
Christ Jesus nailed upon the cross,
Appears in truth before my eyes:
Reminding me, the love of God!

When brief and terse,
With precise verse,
And words aright from heart;
Ensouled from start,

This peak, I've climbed already once;
Should I climb it once more?
This ball, quite high, I made it bounce;
The stunt if same is a bore!

Now at the fag-end of my life,
Afraid I am, no one's with me!
Not ev'n my spouse or any child,
Relative, friend or neighbor one.

A special role is played by one's mother -
Most priceless gift of God's love that we own;
For family's sake, she slogs and gives her time;
She turns the house into a home - heaven;
...

When I see how skilfully, a bee can make a hive upon a tree,
And how a spider, like a horse-rider, plies across its wider web,
Such small creatures are safer than all humans, when they fall,
And fly unhurt like birds in sky until they die,

I hear the noise of washing clothes on stone;
The sun is scorching fiercely overhead;
A lady works for wages all alone;
She looks so famished, weathered, almost dead!

Two Eagles want a mouse as Baghdad’s King!
The Desert -Snake is too wily to swoop:
Once he is gone, they can have anything,
From oil and gasoline to camel-soup!
