Before I’d read the Bible properly,
I never knew the answers to queries
That appeared right and scientifically,
But quite against the Almighty’s decrees!

Meek as a lamb;
An erudite, scientist;
A good medical teacher;
A tough nut to crack!
...

When trials come more often than I bear,
I ask myself, “Must Christians all suffer? ”
Most worldly people appear to well fare;
“Are tribulations for purpose better? ”
...

“You shall be holy for, I am holy”
“You are the chosen people of the One God;
Don’t be afraid to suffer for Christ’s sake;
Rewards await according to your work.

The few good people I’d known appear changed;
The evil-doers seem to have increased;
The few sane people I’d known look deranged;
Most healthy ones are totally diseased!
...

God, break the bonds of evil men;
Annul their corrupt ties;
How long can common man suffer?
Should he, until he dies?
...

The farmer works back-bent in scorching Sun;
The house-maid mops the floor all on her knees;
The beggar feeds his child with tea and bun;
The driver lives with H.I.V. disease.
...

Your blemishes, you may well hide, O Man;
Your tattoo-marks and port-wine stains, you mask;
And naevi too, remove so well, you can.
For plastic-surgeons perform any task.
...

Oh, what can I give Thee O God, my Lord?
How can I ev’r repay thy love for me?
Oh, can I call Thee by a better word?
All that I have today are Thine truly!

All things for sale are well-displayed to catch,
The eye of the prospective customer;
The ways in which these are done do matter;
Be it jewellery, garments or wrist-watch.
