Wailing Winds
Winds scream
when cars cut through
their silence zones
Cart and horse
were music to their ears
But winds
scream in fear
when horns tear into
their meditations
cars and aeroplanes
the faster they move
sharper are the wounds
they inflict
and winds scream
in unbearable pain
We have seen
the planes in flight
- just one side
of the story
the other is the
sordid tale
unsung till date
of winds
mauled and molested
by engines of progress
and their rider,
MAN
When he strikes
his breasts with his palms
IN VICTORY
winds in silence cry
SHAME, SHAME.
