Edouard BIZIMANA Poems

How could it be otherwise,
When His handmade are not wise?
Keeping an eye on each of the artifacts,
For a kind and fatherly census,
...

Today is your day girls of all ages
But who remember you,
Girls of Chibok rapped and raped?
Who give a damn to the plight of millions of you in Pakistan?
...

I wish I could stay
This, I shouldn't say
For the choice is so hard to make
Because all comes back to the family
...

Unmoved by the winter cold he stood;
Waving to every passer-by to give food
Or a lifesaving gesture after reading the paper
Which many refused to look at so as to avoid the keeper.
...

O Tanzanie, O tanzanie,
Ne m´oublie pas,
O Tanzanie,
Moi l´exilé, tant infligé,
...

To many it is just a day
Event-less and not worth a say,
But to me, Saturday is a blessing:
...

Though not like Mary the Virgin
But not far from being a holy mother
For you fed me from your breast
After Dad passed away
...

Alone in my own kind
In the Sochi friendly wind
I thought nobody would mind
A lonely roving man like me,
...

The Tattoo
In a twinkling of an eye,
Love, emotions, action we went through
For a while, to us the world belonged
...

Un coup de foudre
Un coup de folie,
Tout m'échappe et me charge
D'un fardeau d'illusions.
...

Reminiscences of innocence
Never knew it would make sense
As time takes me back
To the recollections of my young age
...

Toi qui m'a vu naître,
De loin je t'imagine,
Et l'envie de te revoir me dévore
Comme le feu dans une savane sèche
...

The world I roved,
Pain, love, joy, I tasted
On a journey I embarked
To places it took me,
...

Honneur d'être femme
Plus qu'une femme, mais
Divinité et Humilité,
O toi être de bonté,
...

Freedom
.
Breached universal value,
O, freedom praised and raped
...

Too late for nice flowers
And for so touching but fake love words
To praise a departed fellow,
After a lonely life in a crowded city
...

God Must Be Busy

How could it be otherwise,
When His handmade are not wise?
Keeping an eye on each of the artifacts,
For a kind and fatherly census,
To avoid the loss of the sheep.
How could beasts live in harmony,
Where each struggles for survival?
How snow would fall from the sky
And why could planets not collide?
What a melodious cacophony!
In platitudes, are we busy
Making Him dizzy
By giving hard times
In our senseless lusts for survival
While birds and ants don't care about their tomorrow.

Endowed with reason
Still the most stupid
Human sounds like treason
Because never satisfied;
If not, why attempt to remake the Maker?

Caring about the careless living and unseen
Speaking for the voiceless
Feeding birds and growing grass
For the grass-eating creatures
And the wonders in the waters.

In a twinkling of an eye,
All could become ashes
To all sound despair.
But, God keeps an eye on every created beauty
And a meaning is given.
In such a disorderly nature,
God must be busy for no way can He rest.
