Confessions

As a child I could not see
The precious moments in front of me
I didn't see my parents sacrifice
I never thought anything ever sufficed
They say its because I was innocent
That I had no abilities for judgement

But Innocence is my sin
It's a mask I was hiding in
I hid from life
I avoided all strife

It may have seemed childish
But I was really just selfish
Then I learned that if you never try to know
Then you will never truly grow
