Foolish Love

All I ever wanted was to mean more to you than nothing,
Knowing I'd never mean everything but willing to settle for something.

So I ignored my inhibitions and refused to learn my lesson,
Stupidly opened myself up again, just to have my heart smashed in.

Well, I guess it goes to show just how stupid I am because if you begged me to take you back, even though I know you'd just hurt me again.

You must just love to hurt me and I must love to be hurt by you,
I always offer another chance, the chance you get to stab my back.

So naive of me to believe you could ever truly love me and even though I know that hurting me is all you will ever do.

I cannot deny this foolish love that I have for you.
