Bob says the harder I work the luckier I seem to get
And do not tell me there is not money in the loss of human sweat
If I did not work as hard less money I would have for to spend
The wealthy one has lots of mates but the pauper does not have a friend.

Until the breath that gives me life it finally forsakes me
I'll use words for to oppose them they send the young to battle
To fight for the colour of their National flag and die like slaughtered cattle.

Is she that lovely woman I knew her when she was in her prime
When I was a Primary school going boy long before I discovered rhyme
Her hair was brown and wavy in those days as it is still today
No doubt she's using hair dye to cover the natural gray.

He was taken with others to Vizner by the foot of the Sierra Nevadas as dawn's lamp lit up the sky
They were seen to be different so for that they had to die
The loud echo of the Falangists guns shattered the peace and quiet
And the murdered were carried to a mass grave and buried out of sight.

Crows are very clever birds as some scientists tell us so
And you will not find a smarter bird than your average black crow
To their advantage they can use tools where some species of birds cannot live they thrive
And despite what some may think of them they know how to survive.

The fruits of your life have gone to poor seed
And others say of you that you have failed to succeed
But the praise or the scorn of others you don't need
For your life alone it is your's for to lead

He likes a few beers though cigarettes he doesn't smoke
He is known what some do call your average bloke.

Goodbye to the old hill of wallaby and roo
And to the familiar call of the weerloo
And farewell to the paddocks so stony and brown
North, south, east and west of the old country town,

At a time of your life when you need peace of mind
You feel lady luck to you is not so kind
And money problems cause you worry and stress
And so sad for you in a financial mess.

Where the tall mountain ash on the high ground they seem to touch the very sky
They now call it The Yarra Ranges though Sherbrooke it once was known by
Places such as Sherbrooke, Belgrave and Kallista in fancy i often do see
Those old wooded hills east of Melbourne will not fade from my memory.
